Lucy grasped his arm, her voice firm but worried. "Wisdom, don't fight them. It's not worth it."
But Wisdom shook her off, storming into the house. Lucy followed, desperate to defuse the situation.
Inside, Cynthia and her brother, Kelvin, were gloating. "You're finally leaving," Cynthia sneered.
Wisdom charged at Kelvin, fists clenched. Lucy intervened, pulling him back.
"Enough!" Lucy shouted, her voice echoing through the house.
The tension was palpable as Lucy stood between her son and step-children.

Just then, the doorbell rang. Lucy hesitated before answering it.
To her surprise, it was Mr. Joe Jacob, the principal of Ever Bright High School.
"Lucy, I see you're moving," he said, eyeing the scattered belongings.
Wisdom's eyes lit up. "Mom, Mr. Jacob is here!"
Lucy's expression turned cold. "What brings you here, Mr. Jacob?"
"I've come to discuss Wisdom's scholarship," Mr. Jacob replied.
Cynthia snorted. "Scholarship? Ha! You're just trying to get money from Mom."
