After Dad's passing, my stepmom's true intentions surfaced. "Pack their belongings; they're leaving today," she ordered Cynthia.


Back at the big house, Lucy and Wisdom returned to find their belongings outside.


"Who did this?" Wisdom asked, anger rising.


Lucy's expression turned cold. "We're leaving this house today."


As they walked away, Wisdom exclaimed, "Mom, I've been selected for the scholarship exams again!"

But Lucy's mind was elsewhere. "Don't raise your hopes, Wisdom. It's just another scam."


Wisdom persisted. "Mom, Mr. Joe Jacob is hosting it. He knows you."


Lucy's face darkened. "You won't apply for that scholarship, and stay away from Mr. Jacob."


Wisdom's excitement deflated.


As they reached the gate, they found it locked. Cynthia's brother hissed and walked away.


"Mom, look!" Wisdom pointed at their belongings scattered outside.


Lucy rushed after Wisdom, pleading with him not to fight his step-siblings.


Wisdom's anger boiled over as he stared at their belongings scattered outside. "Mom, I won't take this!" he shouted.
